White patches in the oral cavity carry a 6% chance of malignant transformation, higher at some sites such as the floor of the mouth. Likewise, it is desirable to develop a greater understanding of how to minimise resistant isolates with uropathogenic capability in the canine colonic microbiota. A recent pooled analysis of trials found that 22% of patients survived for >3 years, at which point, the survival curve begins to plateau. Inspiratory efforts are accompanied by a stidorous sound that is often heard by a bedpartner, who is usually awakened by the episode. Sustainability of interventions shown to be effective needs to be studied, including what happens if and when the intervention is withdrawn and effects of time and changing baseline prescribing rates. Those on stable long-term anticoagulation could also be considered for treatment with bevacizumab after an informed discussion of the risks and benefits.
